Belgium is one of the countries forming the Benelux, together with The Netherlands and Luxembourg, and is located in Northwest Europe. It borders to The Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Germany and the Atlantic Ocean.

Belgium is a constitutional, popular monarchy and a democracy, and Albert II is the current King.
Belgium's strongly globalized economy and its transportation infrastructure are integrated with the rest of Europe, with ports, channels, railways and motorways. Its location at the heart of a highly industrialized region helps made it 2007 the world's 15th largest trading nation.
The economy is characterized by a highly productive work force, high GNP, as the yearly average income is 35.387 USD. , and high exports per capita. The economy is heavily serviced orientated, and the other major economic foundation is exportation as a result of its transportation infrastructure.
